Chester Carry a Bag Campaign

This website is designed to explain the Chester 'Carry a Bag' Campaign, organised jointly by the City Council and Friends of the Earth with the intention of making Chester plastic bag free.

The site contains information about the campaign, why we are doing it and how you can get involved as a shopper or a retailer in Chester.

When?

This scheme will be piloted, with some keen Chester shops, starting in May 2008 and a wider introduction is planned later in the year, once the feedback is collected.

Participating shops will be asked to display a small window sticker – to help when you are out and about.
