On 28th February Professor Simon Pringle, Visiting Professor in Sustainability and Innovation in the Department of Geography and International Development, gave a research seminar exploring the connections between sustainability, innovation and the circular economy.
Drawing on his wide-ranging expertise in the corporate sector, Professor Pringle argued that the speed of societal change has long since outstripped the speed at which typical companies can respond, and that new forms of innovation that directly acknowledge and respond to contemporary social and geopolitical challenges are now needed.
Earlier in the day Professor Pringle had also addressed undergraduate students in Geography and International Development as part of a departmental 'Careers for Geographersemployability event.
