#OurVintageYear: Re-use and Repair

In ode to our 175th year here at the University of Chester, the Green Chester campaign is announcing its vintage, re-use and repair theme for 2014/2015: #OurVintageYear.

To kick it off ex-SU VP Becky Lees, AQSS Student Engagement Officer, is doing the unthinkable and committing to a Nothing New November. Becky is ditching her fashion habit for one month to highlight consumption and workers’ rights issues. Follow her story #NothingNewNovember.

In March we’ll be focussing on the repair side of our campaign and linking up with the DoNation to Fix It!  Is your phone screen broken? Do you wish you knew how to give your wardrobe an update without spending a fortune? Do you know how to mend a puncture? Then the Reuse and Repair workshop is for you! Bring along your broken items and find out how you can get them up and running again.

Or, maybe you’re the Fixpert we’re looking for! Are you a super sewer? Can you give tired furniture/chairs a new lease of life? Can you fix small electrical items? Or mend broken jewellery? If you can or know someone that can and you’d like to share your skills then let us know greenchester@chester.ac.uk
